We hold memories close to our heart. As the hands of time march on, we remember the past with fondness. Sadly, we can’t stop the aging process from washing ashore, but we can find a few moments of reflection & solitude through the years.
Old photographs can transport us back in time. Similar to Back to the Future, we can reverse engineer the process and relive the past. The flux capacitor can bring back a flood of memories and the glory days of childhood, family vacations and, yes, even little league (queue the Bruce Springsteen music) rush back to the forefront. You could argue, reminiscing is a right of passage.
As we watched the July 4th celebrations this year and celebrated our great nations 250th anniversary, some of the musical guests were old & new. Salt-N-Pepa making an appearance was one such highlight… “Cinderella cut up one time.” What’s old is new again indeed… me included!
The passing of time almost forces us to reflect. It’s a way of remembering our youth and temporarily avoiding your present age in life (63 for me). I’ll also momentarily disregard my sore knee, bruised elbow and come to think of it… why are my summer shorts so tight?
So, in no specific order, let’s rehash the what’s old is new again theme with a few photographs from the archives.
